From the Bleachers: A Real Housewives Game Analysis

Join Sandra and Mandy, the Real Housewives of Bend, OR, as they analyze the strategy and game plays of Bravo's Real Housewives. After starting in Salt Lake City, where no apology play is too small for Sandra's Apology Rubric, and no ride in a Sprinter van is too short for an angry confrontation, the team has moved on to analyze the play in Beverly Hills, and heads out to New Jersey in May of 2024.

Sandra conceived of the show as a natural marriage of her mathematics and personality typing background with her love of Game of Roses' Bachelor franchise coverage. Without her, there would be no game analysis and no RSS.

Mandy, a literal (literally!) stranger to reality TV prior to her friendship with Sandra, brings her legal and theater background to the analysis, and loves to highlight all that is comedy in the land of the Housewives.

Once you get a taste of their coverage style, you'll never watch an episode the same way again!

Guest Jackie Maroney from the She’s All Bach podcast joins Sandra today in Mandy’s absence.  The two talk about the differences between Real Housewives and ABC’s The Bachelor, they discuss the recent lawsuits against DLAC (Andy Cohen) and then break down the play in the second part of the reunion for RHOBH season 13. Why does Kyle score so high on the RSS? What conspiracy theory does Jackie have regarding Dorit’s robbery? And did Sutton play well enough in her hot seat this episode to take MVP?

From Dorit’s Red Tent of Errors to a double MVP winner, Sandra and Mandy cover all the game play in part one of the RHOBH season 13 reunion. Plus: Mandy makes her first ever request for a more sparkly dress, Sandra suspects Lisa Barlow and Dorit are personality trait twins, and Dorit weaponizes Mandy’s uterus. Literally.

Sandra and Mandy analyze all the plays in the finale episode of season 13 of RHOBH. This episode, our players take the field at SOFI stadium! Kyle’s white party offers a huge variety to pick from for our Fashion Plays of the Game. Between Sutton’s show-me-the-money jewelry date with her daughter, Erika’s “It’s Expensive to be Me” comeback performance and Kyle’s marriage separation hitting the news, which Housewife played it better this episode?

Sutton and Kyle make some solid plays in this week's game, but can they compete with Erika pulling out TWO apologies? Plus, Sandra and Mandy speculate on: Is Season 1's mean psychic gloating? Is Kyle getting a villain edit? And does Sutton need an intervention? We've got a four point apology by Mandy, Sandra pondering her soul, and the world's longest podcast sign off. But most of all, we're pitching Bravo's next big hit: Diamonds and Bros.

Saturday Feb 10, 2024

Sandra and Mandy analyze all the plays in Season 13 Episode 15 of RHOBH. The players line up to compete with back-to-back PTCs during Sutton Stracke’s releasing ceremony. Sutton spreads Merce’s ashes, creating a Fi-ash-co that earns Mandy the podcasting pun of the week. Some brief apology play by Crystal Minkoff allows us to demonstrate that Sandra and Mandy are beginning to align in their use of the apology rubric. Kyle Richards misses the memo on the Flamenco dancing dress code and plays 3 IFIs. But will that be enough to compete with Sutton’s incredible PTC work and friendship play this episode? Which housewife player will earn MVP this week?

Sandra and Mandy wrap up Season 4 of RHOSLC, exploring the Housewives' storylines, copywriting book title ideas for each player's season, choosing walk-up songs, and, of course, the final awards tally. Sandra and Mandy analyze all the plays in Season 13 Episode 14 of RHOBH. We have a slew of bystanders to pick this week in Barcelona. Big IFI play from Crystal Minkoff. STCOs all around from rookie Annemarie Wiley, Kyle Richards and Sutton Strack. Some unfortunate producing/editing around the racial discussion between Dorit Kemsley and Garcelle Beavuais. And finally, an entertaining drunken dinner of "Merce in the Purse" by Erika Girardi. With all this amazing play, will we agree on our MVP???

Sandra and Mandy bemoan the lack of concrete answers about Reality von Tease and the Black Eye. Like Whitney, they are not angry at Monica for her poor play, they are just . . . disappointed. We've got more clown car pillows, Mandy provides customer service tips, and Sandra proposes a new reality show opportunity for Monica (hint: it's NOT The Traitors). Plus: Final RSS scores are IN! Join us as we analyze the game play in the last reunion episode of RHOSLC S4. And get ready for next week's bonus season wrap up episode before we switch gears and dive into some RHOBH analysis.

Sandra and Mandy analyze all the plays in the Reunion Part 2 of RHOSLC Season 4 (Episode 18). Monica Gracia goes on a PTC festival. Whitney Rose plays some authentic growth. Mary Cosby gets a seat at the reunion, earning her an extra half point for the season, but does she play her appearance well? Dark Lord Andy Cohen steps up his face play. And as seems to be the theme lately, Sandra and Mandy greatly disagree on their MVP and errors this episode.

Join us for our longest episode yet, where the mysteries of the RSS are revealed. Sandra details the ins and outs of how points accrue at the reunion, allowing you to compare players across franchises. Followed by in depth analysis of all the action (inaction?) of the SLC reunion, part one. Sandra asks the all important questions: What is fruit leather? Is Justin pregnant? Why is this thing on her finger? Mandy makes her own error by declaring two errors of the week, and thinks she may have figured out what the Peacock special content is: her play of the game!

We kick off the podcast with analyzing play in the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City (RHOSLC), but can’t wait to dig into all of Bravo’s Real Housewives locations and seasons, including The Real Housewives of Orange County (RHOC), The Real Housewives of New York City (RHONY) reboot and legacy, The Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA), The Real Housewives of New Jersey (RHONJ), The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (RHOBH), The Real Housewives of Miami (RHOM), The Real Housewives of Potomac (RHOP), The Real Housewives of Dubai (RHODubai). Of course, we’d be remiss if we didn’t comment on the historical significance of those locations that were canceled: The Real Housewives of Dallas (RHOD) and The Real Housewives of Washington D.C. (RHODC).

Inspired by Game of Roses, aka GOR, we analyze all the play that happens during each episode. We love cast trips, taglines, glam squads, reunions and reunion seating, behind the scenes, breaking the fourth wall, producer manipulation, apologies, money, the edit, villains, rumors, drama and more!

During our reality TV recaps, we will analyze the play of all the Bravolebrities in Real Housewives, including Lisa Barlow, Mary Cosby, Heather Gay, Meredith Marks, Whitney Rose, Jen Shah, Jennie Nguyen, Monica Garcia, Angie Katsanevas, Kimberly Bryant, Jo De La Rosa, Vicki Gunvalson, Jeana Keough, Lauri Peterson, Tammy Knickerbocker, Quinn Fry, Tamra Judge, Lynne Curtin, Gretchen Rossi, Alexis Bellino, Peggy Tanous, Heather Dubrow, Lydia McLaughlin, Lizzie Rovsek, Shannon Storms Beador, Meghan King Edmonds, Kelly Dodd, Peggy Sulahian, Gina Kirschenheiter, Emily Simpson, Braunwyn Windham-Burke, Elizabeth Lyn Vargas, Jen Armstrong, Noella Bergener, Jennifer Pedranti, Bethenny Frankel, Luann de Lesseps, Alex McCord, Ramona Singer, Jill Zarin, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Sonja Morgan, Cindy Barshop, Aviva Drescher, Carole Radziwill, Heather Thomson, Kristen Taekman, Dorinda Medley, Jules Wainstein, Tinsley Mortimer, Leah McSweeney,  Eboni K.
